Something about Odysseus that makes his stories relevant today is his actions and dedication. In the epic, The Odyssey by Homer, translated by Robert Fitzgerald, shows several examples of conflicts. The Hero’s Journey pattern remain consistent because majority of today’s movies, books, etc are based off of those steps. Odysseus had to do things that people go through and that they do today. Some examples are, disputing against the Cyclops, traveling through the Land of the dead, fighting in the Trojan War, and more critical situation that happened in the epic.

Odysseus went through all the parts of the hero’s journey, for example towards the end of the story Odysseus realized that he was not as powerful as he thought. Once odysseus realizes this he starts to worship the gods more.
A legend to a great many people would be somebody who has strength and has gambled or yielded his life for others. To others a man that has found or accomplished something exceptional. In antiquated Greece a legend was viewed as a man frequently of heavenly family, celebrated for his courageous achievements and favored by the divine beings.
