Hi future Soham, Date 12/2 I hope you did not join a gang or use drugs because that would ruin my dreams and my future. D.A.R.E. stands for drug, abuse, resistance, education. We had officer Matt, the best police officer I would ever meet, who teached us a lot of life changing information in a fun way. D.A.R.E. was so fun! We had the 30 second test that everyone was so freaked out about but it was the easiest test someone could ever take. Even a first grader could do te test. We had the drunk goggles were nothing was straight and we tried walking on a straight line but we kept wiggling around. I would not want my eyesight to be like that. Every 4 minutes, a child is arrested for drug use. By the end of eighth grade, 52% have tasted alcohol, 41% have smoked cigarettes at least once, and 20% have tried marijuana. Those are scary numbers for kids under 13. Cigarettes contain Nicotine which is highly addictive. It increases the heart rate, causes the blood vessels to narrow, and makes the heart work harder, Chewing tobacco makes the teeth loosen and causes gum disease, white spots appear in your mouth, and tooth decays. Your chances of dying increases and you can get mouth cancer. If you drink alcohol, you get drunk, lose coordination, increases your rate of violence, you develop the disability to learn and remember stuff, changes your personality, increases the chance of an accident, and have trouble with other people. Therefore, it is so important to stop people before they start using drugs or using violence to solve their problems. D.A.R.E. really helped me shape my future and I hope you turned out like that. Good choices is the path I imagined you took. Life comes with both good and bad consequences. You only have one life so live that life to the max. If you took the path for bad choices, I hope this letter will help you change your mind and make the right
