Before 10th grade, I had an insufficiently rigorous course load to yield a competitive GPA. After taking the most rigorous classes for a year and boosting my GPA, I have decided to help my classmates tackle the competition at my school by helping them organize their schedules and classes for future academic years. I have reached out to these classmates through class projects and tutoring sessions. So far, I have helped about five teenagers become competitive. I have also frequently volunteered at a local food pantry.
In life, having to overcome an obstacle or barrier isn't an uncommon thing. I've been through many difficult obstacles but there was one in particular that took much effort and a few of Jackie Robinson's nine values, until I could finally overcome this particular obstacle. This obstacle was a lack of confidence and self-doubt. A few causes of self doubt would be low self esteem, excessive criticism in the past, or an inner voice or critic that encourages negative talk about one's self.
You can tell I have a good work ethic because I work almost everyday after school and I even work before school some days too. For a few months I was working two jobs and was still able to participate in school activities. I am even involved in extracurricular activities after school such as baseball, strength club, gamers club, and ski club. Last year I got my first varsity letter from baseball, and this year I am hoping to get my second
Having this is a substainable attainment for the National Junior Honor Society to see about me, and that I have scholarship in me. I work my way up to the best of my ability, especially when my brain is fried. I was absent from school one day home with throat pain ( I am rarely absent) , and I completed a major project in my science cateory, turning it in early and getting a towering 94%. I work day and night, and with an educated schlarship, things get done with the highest grade I
Although my grades were not always consistent, I never earned less than a B for a final grade in my English courses. Often my instructors privately told me that my papers were the best in the class and shared my work with others. My writing secured me a free trip to London and Paris with my business club as well as my acceptance into multiple colleges. I am certain my extracurricular activities, including cheerleading, volleyball, community service projects, fundraisers and employment also played a vital role in these accomplishments. Of all the schools to which I applied, only VSU waitlisted me probably because of my phobia about standardized examinations, which caused me not to perform as well as I should have on the SAT.
One accomplishment I would like to accomplish this year is to start liking to read. Because if I like to read, then I can read and write my summary about what I read for reading class in school. And another reason why I want to start to like to read is because I could then take a quiz on the books and try to make it to the AR parties more often. I have more things that I would like to accomplish this year and some of them are getting my grades higher, making a lot more friends, and getting high achiever. This year, I am one of the A-B honor roll students, but I would like to get to be one of the “all A’s students for honor roll.
This is what the National Honor Society hopes for in a member. I know i’m not perfect and can make mistakes at times, but acknowledging that takes a lot of character. My academic achievements are a result of my determination and drive to ensure that i’ll be able to achieve success in the future as well as serve as role model to the younger siblings and cousins in my family. Getting good grades is a priority to me. Having a XX GPA and being a Distinguished Varsity Scholar for the past 3 years didn 't happen by luck, it happened because of the sheer dedication I have towards my school and
National Honor Society Application It is an honor to be selected as a candidate for the St. George’s National Honor Society. I have been working toward this opportunity for many years. I understand how many doors this will open for me by introducing me to better colleges, better jobs, and a better life. My service hours will benefit my community and those around it.
Throughout my high school career, I extended every effort to reach the point when I was ready to apply for college. I planned for over a year so that I could to move into my own apartment by my eighteenth birthday and ensure stability for myself. I committed myself to my school work, sometimes staying up past midnight to finish assignments. After school, I went to my job and put in everything I had left in order to support myself and provide for a better future. I’ve given every ounce of effort that I have trying to reach this point, and I know that I deserve to be admitted.
There is a variety of sports to get into, but I thought that getting into well-recognized clubs would definitely make me look like an accomplished student. I started off by signing up for National Honors Society. I knew that in middle school I was part of the junior society and I expected to get
But now my high school career has started. And I’m pretty good at it. However, our football team wasn’t very good. People at our school talk smack on our team for not being good. But they don’t see the hard work we put in practice.
I was chosen for my team's Coaches player of the year, twice at the Croydon Hurricanes Rugby league squad. Not only does my passion lie in sport but also in music, I have a huge range of music tastes as I play the saxophone and the guitar. I can spend my leisure time listening from heavy metal artists to spending an evening listening to the sensual Jazz music of John Coltrane. My extracurricular activities do not stop here. I have always wanted to help people, this is a passion of mine and I have always put myself in position where I can help from teaching disable children how to play table tennis with my school, to being elected as student rep at my current college by my class peers.
My high school is highly competitive and I’m grateful that I was surrounded by such wonderful peers and teachers. Completing high school, I received 12th place out of almost 450 students, with a weighted GPA of 4.244. Despite my hard course load,
High school grows you into the person you are. I have great memories, good and bad, some learning experiences and some that I’ll take with me the rest of my life. My high school experience has influenced my development as a person inside and outside of the class by making me more independent, choosing friends wisely and teachers motivating me to attend college and accomplish goals I have set for myself. I have gained my independence slowly throughout high school. The importance of being independent is being secure with who you are and what you believe in.
I have always hated writing about myself, and I always dreaded assignments in school where I had to describe myself. I always wanted to avoid doing these assignments because I did not want to sound narcissistic, or self-absorbed. I dislike people like that now, because I used to be one of those people. It took many lessons learned before I humbled myself; I am still learning to humble myself today with recent experiences I have had. Although I hate to write about myself, I have always liked to reflect on myself.
