On November 8, 2016 the United States of America will have a new commander in chief. Well it be Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump? Based on the 2012 election and on the current debates, I predict that Hillary Clinton well be the first female president that the United States well have. On my “2016 Presidential Election Map,” I have the democrat party winning. I believe that the following states well vote democrat: California, New Mexico, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Which Leaves: Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Texas, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South and North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana voting for the Republican Party. …show more content…

In my map I selected California to vote democratic. My reason behind my chose was, because over the decades California’s population is mainly Hispanic. On the other hand, a few non- Hispanic whites have also migrated out of California. Which also affects the states voting polls.
New York’s voting percentage is going to be very interesting this election. Why? This state is known to be a democratic state, in fact the last time a republican candidate carried New York was in 1984. On the other hand, Donald Trump is the most famous hometown boy in New York. Many believe that Trump has the power to make New York a toss-up state. I firmly believe that even though he has New York “values,” that Hillary Clinton will still have New York’s electoral votes.
Since, 1964 Oklahoma has voted republican. Tradition is hard to change, therefore I selected for Oklahoma to vote for the republican nominee. Another reason, is that for some reason most of the central states of the United States are Republican states. I believe it might be for the fact that there’s not many people that migrate
