The music world is slowly spiraling downward. I don’t like hip hop music because the lyrics are shameful nowadays and the beat is overwhelming. Back in the 70’s that generation voiced their opinions and views through the hip hop music. Hip hop in this current generation has very shameful lyrics and provoke negative ideas. The world of hip hop consist of drugs, violence, and viewing girls negatively. In the song Xo Tour LIif3 the lyrics explain how he wants the drug Xanny to take over his life and make his pain go away. He also explain how he wants to “blow his brains out”. Some hip hop songs view girls as toys or meat instead of real people. They use words like Gold Digger or Diva which have inappropriate meaning behind them and explain that girls are to be taken advantage of and used in a different way. Hip hop advertise many harmful actions. The beat in that specific music genre is overwhelming and aggressive.
Hip hop has a strong beat that is just too overpowering for my liking. The sounds and background is to forceful. I like music to have more lyrics than beats, while hip hop is about the beats more than the lyrics. Artist in that music

Hip hop for the people that lived in that era was about having a voice and being able to speak their views and their beliefs. That generation felt like their opinions weren’t being recognized as much as they should have been. In that time people were on the streets and they people who listened to hip hop were associated to gangs and ending up in prison. Hip hop was a way of escaping that environment and to distract themselves to apply themselves in a different way. So people started to set up equipment and be djs and play hip hop music. That got people off the street and to express themselves through their music and feel that they have a voice.
