Historical Aspects of Sexism
Sexism, also known as gender discrimination, is prejudice based on a person’s sex or gender. It can affect any gender, but historical facts and experiences has it that women and girls are most affected by it. In fact, there are several historical facts pointing out that different countries treated their women differently. In line with Tydesley (1995), women in Ancient Egypt depended on their fathers or husbands but they had property rights and were allowed to attend court (Tydesley 1995).

But sexism can be often subtle and more difficult to detect, such as an employer’s failure to hire or promote an individual on account of their sex. This is a common practice in work places because some people prefer a given kind of sex to work in his or her firm.
Some people are also given promotions due to the fact that they belong to a given sex. This can lead to a rift in the work place among the employees and the employer. Moral might be brought down due to this fact. Some may just be coming to work for the sake of it but their hearts are not in whatever they are doing. This in turn calls for proper education on sex and racial ignorance. With education, people at the work place will have the knowledge and the sex - racial discrimination might be a thing of the past (Chisango, Mayekiso & Thomae, 2014).

Issues Identified In Relation To Sexism and How Each Can Be Addressed
1. Gender Based.
As we both know male are treated superior to women. Male tend to be highly ranked in all aspects of life while women are treated as weakly and illiterate. This is all due to adopted stereotypes (thoughts against certain gender is adopted r ways on how various people treat other people) and gender roles (according to World Health Organization, WHO, are socially constructed roles, behaviors, activities and attributes that a given society considers acceptable and appropriate for men and women) in certain societies or cultures.
Solution
It should start from the route, gender in classrooms. Equity should first be achieved here. So that two goals can be attained, that is, acquire skills for later success and break free from gender roles and stereo types for others to follow (Tindal & Hamill, 2004).
