Captain Grant 's Inn is located in Preston, CT, and was built in 1754 by Captain William Grant. He had the home built for his wife and their children. Three generations of Grants lived in the home before it left the family. The house is located near the first cemetary in the area. The Adelaide room is considered the most active in terms of ghostly activity. Guests have reported the television turning itself off and on and the shower curtain being knocked down with no apparent cause. One of the guests saw a woman standing by the bed in the middle of the night. She was wearing clothing from the Colonial era while holding the hands of two small children. Another guest reported that she felt invisible hands caressing her face. Many guests have photographed orbs and floating objects in their snapshots taken at the inn. The investigative team recorded whispers of spirits. As they were leaving the Adelaide room, a small voice whispered, "Come back in here." In another recording in a different part of the inn, a child-like voice can be heard saying, "I love you." The only thing captured on video is a small floating object that might have been a ribbon.
