CHAPTER ONE The Schutzstaffel Hitler 's reign of power in Germany began January 30, 1933. This was to be the beginning of one of the darkest chapters in modern history. The Schutzstaffel or what is commonly referred to as the SS, was primarily established as a protection squadron and known throughout Nazi Germany as the Black Shirts. The SS was a central organization within the Third Reich 's power structure.

When Ben Kamm was in his early teen years Adolf Hitler was planning on his annihilation of all jews in Europe. When the time of the annihilation came The Nazis and Hitler were burning and/or vandalizing any jewish owned businesses. Jews were not even aloud to step foot in public parks, libraries or leave there house after 5pm. That is what Fighting Against Hitler, by Lauren Tarshis, is about.
The Nazi Party was revered and feared because they were able to exploit people’s fears. The Nazi party existed before the rise of Hitler, but they were a small and virtually unnoticeable party. The entire world was hit by an economic depression in the early 1930s and Germany was not immune. The people of the country were angry and impatient and feared that their parliament was too weak to rectify the economic situation.

How was each of these means used to control German society and secure Hitler’s position and power? During the period of World War 2. Hitler and the Germans wanted to exterminate all Jews.
Hitler felt like the Jews were taking over the world politically, economically, and socially. He needed to find a way to eliminate this perceived threat and turned to radical means to carry out this elimination. “The Nazis believed that the Germans were racially superior and that the Jews deemed inferior, were an alien threat to the so-called German racial community” (The Holocaust). The main perpetrators of the atrocities against Jews were “the members of the SS, the elite guard of the Nazi regime…” (Perpetrators).
Hitler promised revenge against those he claimed had done this to the German people. Hitler was able to use propaganda to motivate the German people to follow him. The citizens of Germany gladly gave Hitler control of their lives for the promise of security and wealth. Once incremental control was relinquished to Hitler, his government took large steps and then total control over German

Hitler had power over everyone. Adolf Hitler gained his power by promising that he was going to end reparations, create a German empire and by breaking the Versailles Treaty. He also used a lot of propaganda to gain power. He developed a lot of hate towards Jewish people. Before the Holocaust, Germany was in the process of recovering from the ruins and destruction of WWI. In the 1930s, desperate for a leader, Adolf Hitler was starting his journey of becoming a dictator and trying to gain power. Using propaganda, Hitler was able to get support from millions of Germans making him rise toward leading Germany (Holocaust Encyclopedia). Adolf Hitler at around the age of 20 hated Jews due to him not making an art school due to his art being a “degenerate product”. As Hitler rose to power, he began to spread his hatred of Jews and started to traumatize and kill Jews.
Facts about the Holocaust and Hitler In world war 2 hitler caused Nazis and Germans to die because he sent them to war. Hitler consolidated the power anointing himself. He also sent Jews to a shelter to waste their lives and die. Thousands of Nazis and Germans died due to the fact of having to fight in World War II.
Although the main causes of World War II were mostly economic, some of the causes were invasion of other countries. Hitler was a very strong speaker. He became the main leader of the National Socialist German workers Party or the Nazi Party which soon took over Germany. Before he actually even joined the Nazis he spied on them. During his younger years he lived in homeless shelters.
Adolf Hitler was the main cause of World War II and brought about numerous detrimental changes to the worlds history. Before he was able to make these changes, however, he first had to grow up. Adolf was born to Alois and Klara on April 20, 1889 near the upper Austrian border. He was the fourth child out of six for this Catholic couple who moved to Linz, the Upper Austrian Capital, in 1898.
Hitler was a very powerful leader in the 1930’s and 1940’s. Many feel that he started War World II. He was very influential and many of the Germans followed him. Why was Hitler so powerful? Did he use force to get what he wanted?
Adolf Hitler believed that he could make Germany strong again through Fascism. Hitler created the Nazi Party in 1919 and supporters grew steadily for him. Hitler capitalized on the German resentment against the Treaty of Versailles and he had seen how they made Germany really weak. Hitler easily recruited many things Germany had before they were weakened such as the middle class. The German people started working for Hitler because they had other jobs, and they owed him for what he was doing.
