I used the time I had to better my skills, not only in dancing and tossing flags but also in working with people. By the end of the season, I could do a lot of new things with my flag and rifle that I never was able to before. In addition, I talked a bit with my coaches and old color guard captains to gain their advice on how I could be a stronger leader. Finally, our following application process began, and I was overly excited to try again, and hopefully get my desired position.
My full name is Angel Jose Garcia, I am 16 years old and I am attending Grace M. Davis high school; I started off freshman year as a chubby kid with no motivation, but as I got a little bit older I have come to change for the better; I am very motivated to succeed and express myself. I enjoy running on my own and in cross country, as well as Teens Run Modesto. I do swimming as a school sport when it comes around, this was my second year doing it and I was team captain. I ran the Modesto Marathon for the first time on March 19, 2017 and got a time of 5 hours and 45 minutes, I know
1. Introduction The United States Military Academy is an institution that prides itself on its leadership development. An important aspect of developing second lieutenants is developing “leaders of character who internalize the ideals of Duty, Honor, Country and the Army Ethics” (Gold Book 4). This character and moral development starts with the Cadet Honor Code.
The chance to be evaluated for the Sherwood Middle School National Junior Honor Society is an honor, and I 'm excited to try and take this opportunity, so thank you. I wanted to start out by saying, that if I’m accepted, I have plans of doing community service with some of my friends, and even if I’m not accepted those plans will not be changing. Throughout my life, I 've always tried for the best, whether it be my grades or my attitude. Reflecting a good mood to those around me is half of the battle after all.
PTA Scholarship “Football only lasts a few months, your education lasts you a lifetime” coach Horner says very often. My time in Columbia has benefited me substantially. All of the teachers have given me a new thought or new way to vision my future. Almost all in a positive way. Supportive would be an understatement to describe all of the faculty and staff of Columbia High school.
When I attended Palmetto Boys State in June of 2017, there was one thing that I was told repeatedly since the first day: “You get out what you put in.” Before I attended, I roughly knew that Boys State was a government simulation program, and I was interested yet still unsure about the program. While it is a government simulation program, Boys State at its core teaches more than government and law. When I decided to follow the advice I was given and put in as much as I could, the week turned out to be one of the most transformative experiences of my life. Santee City, the city I had been placed in, did not have a great start to the week.
There is multiple ways we can honor our Veterans! One way is to say the pledge of allegiance in the mornings and give respect to the flag. We need to respect our Veterans because they put their country before themselves. If you ever see a veteran say “Thank you for your service” and I would like to give a huge thanks to my uncle christopher for his service in our country!
It was nice to meet you as well at Eagle Pride Night. I did check for you on that assignment, and I did put a zero because I give students that are absent the full five days to make up a quiz. However, the quiz needs to be made up after school. I did let students know this, every day and unfortunately he had until this past Monday to come after school to make up the quiz. Since the time has passed he no longer can make up the quiz.
Having a senior show is a very hard experience, but it is incredibly rewarding. I feel like my show was a huge success and I only had a few minor hiccups along the way. One of the hiccups would be that I bought some frames to early. I had an idea of how I would hang and display my work early on so I went ahead and bought some frames early.
The United States is built on freedom. Freedom is something we have all earned by the doings of the brave men and women. These men and women put their lives on the line each and every day for all of us. On Thursday we had a few speakers who talked about the protests going on during NFL and sports games. These protests are all taking place for the “unfair treatment” regarding unequal rights.
In that first year of being a scout I was extremely active, serving as troop guide and achieving the rank of scout. I made it to the rank of first class just in time to go to the National Jamboree in 2013. Before I went I was inducted into the OA as well. This was one of my first major expeditions in my scouting career and I enjoyed most of my
First, I had to finish several required merit badges that I had not completed, and I also had to start other projects. Every time there was a chance to earn a merit badge I needed, I took it. However, there were some badges I couldn’t complete because the training was not readily available through my troop. I searched for alternative ways to complete those badges, and I even took classes required to earn them. Next I had to be in a leadership position, so I ran for and was elected to be the Senior Patrol Leader.
I was halfway done with my 300 yard swim to pass the prerequisite to be a lifeguard. I finished The nervousness was effecting my stomach. I stumbled out of the pool and over to trash can. Where I lost my last meal to that can. I noticed that my vomit was red but i didn’t have time to think about it
The second chapter contrasts current obsessions with physical fitness (taken to dangerous extremes by some body builders) with Stoic indifference to the body -- the body is external to happiness, and is to be regarded as a tool, to be kept in good condition, to be sure, but not valued for its own sake. Here the resonance with a military outlook is clear: physical fitness is a duty because of its role in mission readiness, and further, given the high risks to which the body is subjected, one can see some appeal in regarding it as a preferred indifferent. Yet Sherman pulls back: Drawing on anecdotes of soldiers who have lost limbs or suffered other disfiguring injuries, she argues that while Stoicism has much to offer in service of recovering
In the novel The Woman Warrior written by Maxine Hong Kingston, we are being told about the stories of five women and their lives. Throughout the novel there is a story told for each of these women.
