During my high school career I have made a consistent effort to stay involved in both my school and community. Through clubs such as Key Club, National Art Honor Society, and National Honor Society I’ve been able to help out locally and globally in an abundance of ways. In Key club and NHS I am able to volunteer in traditional ways, but National Arts Honors Society allows me to contribute to my community and school in a creative way that stimulates people 's minds through art. Due to these activities having a significant impact on my life my future career options are based around what I have learned from them.
Participating in social services for orphanages and homes for elders have been experiences that build my character. By helping others I help myself be a better person, and get new prespectives of life. Being part of the National Honor Society comes with its benefits and responsibilities. I am prepared to take both and fulfill them as best as I can. I will hopefully have the opportunity to be a part of your community of outstanding people.
Through my organization, I have earned over 500 hours of community service and was awarded the Presidential Volunteer Service Bronze Medallion for my continued efforts in giving back to the community. During the summer, I assist
My education provides the foundation for my future. In order to ensure my success, I must also continue to engage in service projects. My involvement in community service with National Honor Society has kindled
By active community service, leadership roles, and hard work, I have learned the incredible importance of academic achievement, character, leadership, and service. Through these things, I have been substantially prepared by the Beta Club to serve others as I depart high school and
The chance to be evaluated for the Sherwood Middle School National Junior Honor Society is an honor, and I 'm excited to try and take this opportunity, so thank you. I wanted to start out by saying, that if I’m accepted, I have plans of doing community service with some of my friends, and even if I’m not accepted those plans will not be changing. Throughout my life, I 've always tried for the best, whether it be my grades or my attitude. Reflecting a good mood to those around me is half of the battle after all.
As a member of several honor societies in high school, I participated in many community service events and hoped to continue serving the community once I began college. I joined the RPI Zeta Eta chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta Women’s Fraternity during my freshman year. Being a part of Alpha Gamma Delta has allowed me to continue serving the community. Throughout the school year, we participate in several events including Relay for Life, Volunteering at the Boys and Girls club, and several philanthropy events set up by our chapter and other Greek houses and organizations on campus.
Every week I spend time at the Morristown Medical Center as a volunteer, where I am able to help keep things functioning in the hospital at the highest speed possible and hopefully brighten a few patients’ days. Also, I’ve enjoyed helping refereeing youth basketball games for the past two seasons and being able to talk with the kids. It is a great opportunity to give back to a program which gave me so much in the five years I played in it when I was younger. Furthermore, I am excited for even more opportunities to have an impact on my community which being a part of National Honor Society would aid in.
The Honor Society helped me stay motivated while enrolled in the Washington State University (WSU) Mechanical Engineering Program. I made the decision to go back to school and earn my Mechanical Engineering degree. It was a difficult decision at the time as I was working fulltime as a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Programmer in the aerospace industry and my husband
The honor code or honor systems is known by educators across the nation. The honor code is used to keep students from making bad decisions educational wise, for example, cheating and plagiarism, therefore, the honor is used to keep students inside the behavioral codes that the honor code has to offer. The honor code is very controversial because of the codes that the system delivers. The system is very influential to the students and creates a behavioral impact that allows the students to follow by the codes and to have complete freedom. The process of the honor code should be maintained due to the honesty and pledges of the students to increase their success.
I joined the Service and Philanthropy committee last semester because I wanted to help bring service to Alpha Kappa Psi and change the way people view volunteering. When most people think of taking time out of their busy schedules to volunteer, they dread it. Some people
As a junior in high school, I was inducted into the National Honor Society for doing exceptionally well in my academic endeavors and actively participating in volunteer events. My contributions through this organization have made a significant impact on both my personal development and my community’s support services. The numerous volunteer projects in which I have participated have prepared me to continue helping others in the future. Through projects such as building houses from the ground-up with Habitat for Humanity, I have developed teamwork skills, discovered my management potential, and increased my social network, all while working to provide services for less fortunate individuals in my community. Some
Growing older, community service has become more valued. Never will I forget where I came from, so helping to better my future through helping others is prominent. With
In all, I can say that service learning has helped to shape me into a person that I am today and continues to makes me a better person. Service to me is a way of life and I can't image my life without service. I feel deeply indebted to the people who took the time to help me to grow into the leader I am today. Now I spend my days trying to give back to my community the way someone did for
I have focused on service, learning, and personal growth in my extracurricular involvement. I have volunteered at a variety of settings, including a community hospital, dialysis clinic, rehabilitation center, senior citizen center, and public library. What I found most valuable from these diverse environments was the combined value of research and service. I understood this value at a dialysis clinic where dialysis machines were used to detoxify a patient’s blood. It was the service of the physician and technicians that made sure that the dialysis machines effectively treated the patients.
