My Country China
China is an Asian Country that has a significant population of up to 1 billion. It has over 56 ethnic subdivisions that have vast cultures and beliefs. The largest community is the Han Chinese that has over 900 million people. This group is the most popular because they are all over China and their culture is well known. Other minority groups have few people with about 2000 each. They include Hezhen, Naxi, Manchus, Mongols, and Tibetans.
Chinese are very considerate when it comes to their culture and beliefs. They are rigid to their culture and do not like to mix other cultures particularly the western culture. They have their clothing style that is unique to other cultures. They have different meals, cooking techniques,

How are gender roles perceived (competitive vs. cooperative) in this culture?
Gender greatly influences how they do things. Some roles are played by male and the female in the Chinese people. Men gender (yang) is dominant over the female gender (yin). Men are perceived to be hard and assertive. Men and women are not the same as the men are above women. This has been so from their traditions that ranked men ahead of women.
Women were mostly confined within the homestead from where they carry their activities. They were not allowed to make decisions but were always under the lead of men. They were taught to be submissive to men from a very tender age. They were not allowed to conduct essential public functions. Women were under the watch of the watch of their father until they would be married at a young age.
The male gender is respected and superior to the female sex. In the Chinese culture, the male is in charge of securing their community. They are the worriers would protect the community whenever it was under attack. Boys are established with their fathers who teach them the various life lessons.

Chinese are proud of their culture and can do anything to protect it. They address each other with respect and appreciate it when you are calm. They do not like to be forced into things that they do not like. When you are in public, it is important to remain calm. They do not like it when you raise your voice to them. They do not like it when people overreact. They like to proceed with moderation. This is not the case when you visit them in their private homes.
When you are out in the temple, you should not shake hands with the opposite gender. You should not have a personal touch with the opposite gender, or else it can attract punishments. Women put on a scarf to cover their head in temples. This is in accordance to with their traditions and should not be violated. They are strict to their culture and religion
