Bacteria do not need a host cell to reproduce unlike viruses. A virus is able to reproduce and multiply when it can survive in a living host cell. Bacteria and Viruses are both organisms with a single cell. There are different shapes to describe bacteria and these shapes can help a scientists to classify them. Their arrangements are usually what’s considered when classifying. In relation to size, a virus is predominantly smaller than bacteria but there have been new discoveries for the size of a virus.
