During this recent election racial discrimination became an immense problem. Sadly, our nation experienced the heartache of discrimination many times before today. Although Americans treated others with hatred and bigotry, some stood up for equality. Decades and decades ago, one such woman with this bravery was Abigail Adams. “Abigail Adams enforced to stop slavery because she believed that everyone is equal no matter what race, gender or ethnicity you are. So Abigail Adams took a stand to the situation and put a stop to it” (Colonial Women 1). Admiringly, her political background allowed her to be a voice for equal rights. “Abigail Adams positively impacted her husband’s presidency, and women’s rights”(Colonial women 1).
Positively, “Abigail Adams impacted history for the female gender by demanding a fair education for all” (Abigail Adams 1). Today, imagine classrooms filled with only boys. This used to be a reality. But, Adams tried to stop that. Back then this was really bad for women. She …show more content…

She positively affected women’s rights for many things in many ways. “Abigail Adams enforced to stop slavery because she believed that everyone is equal no matter what race, gender or ethnicity you are. So Abigail Adams took a stand to the situation and put a stop to it.” (Colonial women 1). She used her husband as a recourse for trying to enforce laws on women’s rights during his presidency. This strongly impacted women’s rights in many ways. “She was really interested in women’s rights with education” (Abigail Adams 1). She was one of the first advocates for women’s rights with education. She was a smart women and strongly wanted to learn how to read and write.
