Alexander the Great was a king of the Ancient Greek kingdom. He accomplished amazing things when he was alive such as uniting Greece, reestablishing the Corinthian league and conquering the persian empire. His legacies after his death then consisted of being a major part of the establishment of a new world based on Greek culture that his followers founded, creating trading routes and cities, and the spread of Greek language. Alexander the Great still has an impact on the modern world as many cities are still named after him, and he spread Greek language, culture and population which influenced the course of history. Alexander the great had a large impact on western and eastern culture through his conquests in the third century. The passage of his armies led to an expansion of trade routes from Europe to Asia, meaning an increase in trade and an unprecedented culture and religion exchanges. One of the main benefits of this was also the spread of Greek language, which became the language of trade. People were easily able to understand each other no matter what their personal language or culture was. The popular use of the language resulted in a widespread appreciation for Greek art, philosophy and drama.
