Did America’s expansion have a positive or negative impact on America? Regardless of what many people think, America did have a positive impact on itself if you look at the different ways they have contributed in many events. America was going through a time where they helped other countries and in return, also benefited their own country. The actions of the United States were positive at the turn of the century because America gained many territories, won the Spanish-American War, and contributed a lot in Word War I. All of these has helped America grow and expand.

Evidence shows that In the beginning of WWI, America did not take any sides and was completely neutral. America joined the war when German submarines began sinking unarmed ships and the most famous ship sunk was called the Lusitania. America then took side with the Allies which was made up of Britain, France, and Russia. Another evidence that shows how much America contributed in the war was their supply of men and weapons. African Americans were not allowed to be in the front line while France was losing many men. So, France took anyone they could find and took in African Americans in. As for technology, America used different kinds of weapons like hand grenades and rifles and many other weapons. Also evidence proves that America helped at offensives in the Saint Mihiel and Meuse Argonne area, however, they lost a lot of men. Another evidence shows that Austria-Hungary surrendered to the Allies because they were in a state of collapse and so was Germany.
