Zoot Suit Riots were a series of conflicts that occurred between the police workers and Mexican immigrants youths who wore garments called zoot suits. The zoot suits consisted of a drape jackets, a hat and trousers that were loose but, tight around the ankles. During this period there was a lot of discrimination towards the Mexican immigrants in the United States. The Zoot Suit Riots had first started when a zoot suiter was involved in a party fight and one of the party goers was brutally murdered, José Díaz. This only fueled the public 's outcrys against the zoot suits.

Black’s from the South migrated North in search of jobs, new homes, and opportunities. In a prominent white area, the migration of blacks was not wanted. Segregation was still present throughout the U.S. Contrary to popular belief, the first largest race riot in Detroit on June 20th, 1943, was started by whites. World War II was underway which created more needs than the average company could produce.
Throughout the history of California, there have been numerous amounts of crime and violence related events. During World War II, the outbreak of the Zoot Suit riots began and ended off with a cultural history of the Mexican Americans in Southern California. The Zoot Suit riots in Los Angeles in June of 1943 made Mexican Americans be aware of and experience the negative racial attitudes that the United States had towards Mexican Americans. During the early 1930s, many Mexicans began to move to California due to work opportunities.

The riot nearly had three dozen juveniles arrested and more than 200 adults were taken into custody after people set fires to cars and businesses, with lots of looted stores. Nearly 150 cars were burned with a cost of nine million dollars total to the city of Baltimore. This has not been the only tragedy that was created by race. The 2015 Ferguson riots are another example.
Flash mobs are examples of groups contributing to positive peer pressure, as often the messages aim to convey positive viewpoints and serve to make people happy through their methods of communication, leading others to follow suit by breaking out of their comfort zones and joining the flash mob movement. The Zoot Suit Riots brought these issues of racism to the attention of the city officials in Los Angeles. This led to numerous other positive impacts for the Mexican-American community. Community members were angry at the young people going to clubs at night because they were “loud” and “disruptive”. The curfew law was put into place after the complaints and the youth became outraged. They believed their civil right were being taken away. There were riots along the sunset strip, where all these clubs were located, to protest the law. Police were at these riots and many people were handcuffed and hauled off to jail.
As mayor I will make the city a better place, and I will listen to the people. Being the mayor would be very exciting. And I think that Council Bluffs has the opportunity to be a very fun and exciting place. As Mayor I would fix the mall, make new roads, and bring new attractions to the city. At night when everybody was marching or in the streets taking a break, police officers would come, shoot the lights out in the street so no marchers could see them. College is Necessary In just a couple of months or years, every single one of us in this room will have to make one of the most important decisions of our lives. This decision will not only impact our future, but also the way we perceive life. The monumental decision I’m referring to is none other than college.
