Lil Snupe is an underground rapper from Jonesboro, Louisiana. In one of his hit songs Melo he compares himself to New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony. He’s comparing his worth to Carmelo’s and he explains that before joining the dope game he didn’t have anything, but now that he’s in it he’s ballin like Melo. But joining the dope game also led to something very fatal. After joining the dope game Snupe started comparing himself to Carmelo Anthony. Lil Snupe is comparing his wealth to the greatness of Carmelo Anthony’s game. After joining the dope game Lil Snupe also says in his song that “I used to be dead broke now I’m blowing stack for stack”. Yeah joining the dope game isn’t good but it has its dues. Another thing he compared towards Melo was his style, how Melo is a hype beast so is Lil Snupe and he explains that as well in his song when he says “Gucci, Louie, Fen die, Prada that’s what I’m rockin now”. So you have to understand being in the dope game has gotten Lil Snupe stuff he’s never had before. The language Snupe is trying to portray is its hard out here in this world and in order to make something out of it you have to grind and do it on your own because it’s not going to be handed to you. The language Lil Snupe is using is meant to display that he had nothing growing up and so he had to do what he had to do to make it and joining the dope game was his way out due to the lifestyle he was living in.
