For this architectural comparison, I will be going deep into the comparing and contrasting of two iconic American homes, Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello and President Donald Trump’s Mar a Lago Florida home. Each building deserves a commemorative coin, but only one can be selected. By studying all the four structures, the one most deserving of a commemorative coin is the Magazine. The discussion of Agathocles strengthens the argument made by Machiavelli in The Prince. Agathocles, tyrant of Syracuse, was a wicked and powerful king who had a focus on military power. He even went as far as killing all of his leaders at the senate.

The author use of the title “Cathedral” was misleading at first. “Cathedral” is about a husband who had an interesting experience with his wife’s blind friend. The narrator, also known as the husband, had difficulty understanding other people thoughts and personal feelings. The narrator knew how important the blind man is to his wife, yet he still makes careless jokes about him. “Maybe I could take him bowling” was a comment made by the narrator after finding out that the blind man was staying over his house.
The development of modern day architecture is very fascinating. Even though it has a very significant difference to architecture in the past, it still has many similarities. Many famous buildings we have today still show the same basic designs. For example, the Lincoln Memorial is very similar to the Parthenon.
Frank Lloyd Wright was famous and modern architect in the early 1900s, and was the student of Louis Sullivan another famous architect well known as “the father of skyscrapers”. Wright changed the way of architecture for many years in America. He developed organic and distinctly American style buildings and numerous iconic buildings. Wright was considered as one of the greatest architects in the 20th century and the greatest American architect of all time.
