Describe and discuss the different ways in which Darwin’s Theory of Evolution could be said to have influenced the development of psychology.

Charles Darwin, is said to be a very influential person on many fields, such as biology, psychology, physics and so on. (Goetz and Shackelford, 2006) He has published a book called ”On the origin of species” in 1859 and it explains his theory of evolution in it. However, his theory has caused lots of conflicts until today as some of the content has been proved as wrong, also it become controversial with different religious views. Therefore, it is very worth and important to discuss on the influence of his theory. This essay is to describe Darwin’s Theory of Evolution and mainly discuss on what has Darwin’s theory of evolution brought to the development of psychology.

To discuss the theory of evolution, better understanding of Charles Darwin and his theory is very crucial. Charles Darwin was an English who studied plants and animals’ variation in the 19th century. According to (Tanner, 2008), Darwin was taking a very vital role in the history of science.
