The cartoon “Donald in Mathmagic Land” showed the character Donald Duck go through Mathmagic Land. In the beginning, Donald was in the forest and in this forest there were many numbers around and things in nature were replaced with mathematical items. Then the spirit of adventure began talking to Donald and told him that he was about to go on an adventure through Mathmagic Land. At first, Donald Duck was reluctant to go on this adventure but the spirit took him through it anyway. The spirit asked Donald if he liked math and he said no but then he asked him if he liked music and explained how math is involved with music. They first went to ancient Greece and the spirit explained how Pythagoras discovered how math and music are related to each other. He also explained about a secret group was formed that enjoyed playing music and doing math. The spirit also told Donald Duck how the pentagon and rectangle are related to other shapes. The spirit of adventure showed how the pentagon takes place in nature. He also told Donald about the golden triangle and how the Greeks utilized it in many of their structures and sculptures. Then the spirit showed how chess is a game of mathematical decisions. As they kept traveling through Mathmagic Land. the spirit showed Donald Duck how the game of pool is related to math as well and how it takes a while to master that skill but math can help. It was nice to know some history about math. It was also nice to see how math has progressed since then. I also liked how they showed how math was applied in history. Another part I liked was when the spirit showed him the man playing pool. I was amazed on how math was applied in pool. The funniest part was when Donald Duck was in the forest and he said, “Well what do you know, square roots” and there were trees in the forest with literal square
