Elvis Presley was a singer who lived from 1935 to 1977. He was born in Tupelo, Mississippi. He grew up in a small house and was poor. His influences for singing were gospel from church, R&B from Memphis, pop, and country. His music was mostly rock and roll. When some people heard he was a good singer they wanted to hear him more and so he was put on T.V shows to get popular. After people heard his singing they called him “The King of Rock and Roll “. His biggest fame was in the 1950’s. He was also very funny.. This made millions of people love him. Elvis served his country in the U.S Army. Elvis had a child named Lisa but then got divorced with his wife. Near the end of Elvis’ life he was hospitalized because of addictions to prescription drugs.
