European exploration had a variety of effects on history, with the majority having a positive impact, The exploration period was a crucial time in history that have greatly impacted the world as it is today. New trade routes and products were introduced, new navigational advancements were made, and very profitable trade ports were discovered, all of which have positively impacted the European and American societies. Trade was very crucial during the time of exploration. The Columbian Exchange was a trade route that allowed many new products to be introduced. Many new trading ports were discovered that bypassed intermediaries when trading to Asia. Vasco Da Gama was a Portuguese explorer who was the first to reach Asia by boat. He reached Calcutta, India, when he saved Portugal a lot of money by trading through the Calcutta port. Many European merchants were also making big profits. The triangular trade was a trade route between AFrica, Europe, and the Americas. Slaves, gold, guns, and raw materials were traded through this route. Merchants were able to profit at every trading stop of the triangular trade, and ended up making major profits. European countries set up colonies in the newly conquered land which helped them to profit from sugar production and silver mining in the colonies. One part of the triangular trade was the Middle Passage, the part of the journey where the slaves from Africa were shipped to the Americas. While this was a horrendous experience for the slaves and had some very bad impacts, slavery was already in place before the Exploration.
