For a long time, European Sovereigns did not cross the borders of Africa and stood close to the ocean. They did not want to take the risk of going into the lands. It is only at the end of the XIXth century that they enter into the continent. In 1880, not even a tenth of the black continent was under the European authority. But by 1900, the entire continent had been conquest by Europeans except Ethiopia, Morocco and small Liberia.
It all started in 1872, when The Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, announced he wanted to raise the British Empire.
