Egyptian Lore has helped shape the society of Egypt because many of their ancient beliefs viewed Egypt as understanding the world and expressing religion. Folklore is a collection of stories passed down from generation to generation that include Legends, Myths, and Fairy Tales. Legends are real places, or events in history. Myths are based on religion and supernatural beings such as creators or demigods. Fairy Tales are children’s stories based on fantastic element, imaginary creatures, magic and conflict between good and evil. Tall Tales is an exaggeration that is obvious but often has no question based on truth. Legends were based on how the ancient people of Egypt were so arranged to throw light on their beliefs and their traditional customs. In which their legends were very distinct and strange which compares to other native cultures. Also with the legend of Osiris who was the god of dead and the lord of the “underworld” in which Horus’ who wanted to gain rights to “kingship”. Both legends were different because they both reflected on how the legends were based on the customs and the beliefs of the ancient people of Egypt. These legends relate to the Egyptian culture because both legends compare to native cultures and some people believed that the legend of Osiris was important because they would be able to join him during the afterlife of Egypt. The values that are evident in each legend is that the ancient people had very important values over the legend of Osiris and the Nilotic civilization. The legend of Osiris was important to the Egyptians because they valued him as the king of the dead in which he could take you to the afterlife. The Nilotic civilization was also an important society because many Egyptians could relate to their religions. In Egypt the prince of egypt was known as their historical accuracy because he would have visions of the future and this helped Egypt through a food crisis. (Tunzelmann, Alex Von). Oral tradition in Egypt altered historical facts because they had different artifacts in which they could learn from different discoveries. Oral tradition also helped Egypt by experiencing other societies that helped Egypt construct their custom beliefs.Egyptians were into otherworldly societies they believed in many strange gods and animals.
