The term “Moses” describes another person other than the person himself. Harriet Tubman freed over 300 slaves to freedom by using the Underground Railroad. The Underground Railroad is a railroad that helps people escape to freedom if they were a slave. Harriet has gone through so many things during her lifespan but she did not let that affect the life that she was living. Based on how she did not let those harsh things affect her lifespan considering she was a slave, she did not give up on chasing the dream of having freedom. Tubman was famous for being enslaved, for escaping to freedom, and for helping other people to free themselves as the “conductor” of the Underground Railroad. While assisting people to escape to freedom through the Underground Railroad, Harriet made 19 trips to help people escape; she escorted over 300 slaves without leaving one person behind. She took so many trips through the Underground Railroad to save people when she could have some of them caught, but she never left one person behind because she knew how it felt to be beaten, to be punished, to be a slave. Harriet did not want those people to continue being slaves because it is tremendously hurtful to realize that you might be the only person that could escape. Harriet leads all those people to the place they deserve to be and to a place they will love. Harriet understood that the people needed her to come to lead them because she escaped all by herself and if you do that all by yourself, it is hard because of all the people that are trying to get you. Harriet has helped people in the Southern United States escape to freedom. Then after she leads so many people to the place where they belong, her admirers call her “Moses” because he himself has led the Jews out of slavery in Egypt. It might seem like she is following the tracks of Moses but she is not. She is doing what is best for her people, for the community, and for everyone that deserves the right to be free. She does not care that her life is on the line, and she does not care that she can get caught, but she does care about doing what is right. For instance, Harriet has saved so many people, even herself. She cares more about everyone else than she cares about herself. In the past, before she changed her name, she did not really do much besides work as a slave. In the future after she changed her name from Araminta Ross to Harriet Tubman, it seems that the moment she changed her name, it is like it changed her whole life. When she changed her name, she started to think that if she changed her name, she should change herself. After that thought, she needed to escape to have a better life than she had at the time. Harriet decided that she would get a plan to escape and then help some other people.
