Aldous Huxley's Brave New World portrays a world in which pain and suffering have been all but eliminated, where pleasure is perpetual, and where society is immersed in stability. In a world such as this, the novel argues, there is no need for God and religion. Instead of religion an innovator named Henry Ford replaces God as "Our Ford". Henry Ford created the Model T car along with mass production, and in 1931 Aldous Huxley uses Ford as a figurehead. But the question comes to mind.... What if Brave New World did not have Henry Ford as an idolized figure, and instead used a different innovator such as Amour&Swift? The world would change in every way possible through morals,technology, and production.

In spirit of innovation together they founded the company Swift & Armour. "During the Gilded Age Swift & Armour helped reshape consumers mistrust of processed meat through their invention of the refrigerated railroad car" (Swift). The impact of the railroad industry during the Gilded Age was overwhelming and was metaphorically called "hell on wheels". The railroad business allowed food production to travel great distances across the states, but with consequences. The food spoiled. With food spoiling many companies were forced into processing their foods for lasting quality, and with a majority of the population already in unhealthy environments, added chemicals to their meals became even more hazardous. Swift & Armour quickly stepped in revealing their solution. The refrigerated railroad car. The refrigerated railroad car was designed to carry perishable freight at specific temperatures, that allowed food to be the way Swift & Armour believed it should be.
