Society before Hiram Stevens Maxim was under pressure and prompted to make multiple inventions that were being created all in the same era to improve different aspects of technology. Hiram Stevens Maxim was born in 1840 and died in 1916. Maxim had 2 marriages, along with 3 kids. He was an American born British inventor who became famous for inventing the Maxim gun, the world's first portable fully automatic machine gun.
