The renaissance began in the 1300s and lasted into the 1600s. The Black Death, as well as trade with the east, allowed it to come into existence. It spurred many things including humanism and remains one of the most famous time periods in history. Humanism is a movement during the Italian Renaissance, that made people focus on people. This movement opened opportunities for improvement in many areas. One of the most significant contributions to history from the renaissance was humanism because it propelled the arts, sciences, and religion to new heights. Humanism allowed people to think of new ways to paint in detail. Painters and sculptors tried to recreate the human body by studying anatomy. This made their paintings more realistic and lifelike.
