1945 to today is a long time and many nations have changed in that period, especially the Asian nations. For example, Japan changed in the sense that they had to westernize. Either by force or by choice, they took the easier road and evolved by choice.
Japan has changed in a tremendous way. Japan created a new constitution in 1947 and in 1952 became a sovereign nation. The United States' use of atomic weapons at Hiroshima and Nagasaki ended the war and led to a military occupation of Japan by the United States.
