Joan of Arc started her life as a peasant and her father, Jacques d’Arc, was a tenant farmer. He worked the land of a lord, so he was not the owner of the land (“Joan of Arc”). Joan of Arc had no education. She had a little bit of knowledge because her mother taught her about Catholic Church but not how to read or write (“Joan of Arc”). In the Medieval Times, only the son of the king could get a proper education. As a young girl, Joan of Arc could hear God saying that the French needed help because they were under the English power.
