Rise to Power
Stalin was born on December 17th, 1878, in Georgia. At a young age, Stalin was abused a lot by his father. His harsh childhood will reflect on the way he rules Russia and treats it’s people.(Hingley)

As a young Bolshevik Revolutionary, Stalin would lead gang attacks, protests and even bank robberies. (Hingley)

Stalin’s rise of power was in February 1912, when Vladimir Lenin appointed Stalin to serve in the first central committee of the Bolsheviks. He showed his capabilities to rule when he was appointed as secretary general in the committee. (Hingley)

Stalin also used his role as secretary general to gain a seat in the Politburo and whoever Stalin helped to gain power became his his loyal ally. (Hingley)

As time went by the relationship between The Soviet Union and Germany started to fall. Stalin grew cautious due to the rapid increase of power for Germany. This eventually led to the invasion of Russia by Hitler in 1941. (“Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin”)

The German Sixth Army invaded Russia from the west and push deep into the heartland. This shocked Stalin for a few weeks but eventually he came back to his senses and he replenished his army. He also launched many surprise attacks for the Germans.(Hingley)

During the Battle of Stalingrad, Stalin proved himself as a good leader because of his decisive victory of the Germans. The battle was fought in the city and it was a house to house fight.
