In 1789, 14 of July, a historical event known as “The French Revolution” happened. This event was to help to shape the modern world by showing that with the will of the people, they can fight for their individual rights and freedom. It then also became a model for revolutions in the future. The French Revolution lasted 10 years from 1789 to 1799. It ended when Napoleon Bonaparte topple France's government and became the Emperor while supporting the Revolution's democratic values. Many believes that the French Revolution did not begin as a struggle of poor against the rich and some believed that poor against the rich is the root of the revolution. King Louis XVI was one of the main culprit for being a failure in leading the country. He was known to be a very indecisive person in making decisions and was easily swayed by other's opinion. For example, the wife of King Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette, constantly influence her husband in making government related decisions such as the hiring of several government ministers. King Louis XVI is also a coward and tend to abandon his people during difficult times. For example, in 1791 King Louis tried to escape from the country but unfortunately, he was captured. This results in French people losing faith in him and eventually he was beheaded, ending 1000 years of the monarchy ruling. The government of France was also not transparent enough causing people to doubt their government and suspects corruption being heavily involved among other members of the government. For example, King Louis XVI once hired a Swiss banker named Jacques Necker to be his finance minister in 1777 and Jacques Neckers proposed to have a tax reform through publicly publishing the country's finance. This caused Jacques Necker to gain a lot of enemies with the authorities and lastly he was forced into resignation with King Louis XVI's wife, Marie Antoinette, who played a major role in it
