King Louis XVI greatly impacted and influenced the French Revolution. He had also changed the course of history for the country of France. Without the French Revolution he would not have influenced people to travel to the new world and fight for the independence of America. King Louis XVI was a very influential person to his people in France during his time as king. King Louis XVI was born in 1754 in Versailles, France. His father’s name was Louis, Dauphin and his mother’s name was Marie-Josephe. Louis XVI grew up with incredible strength and health. He enjoyed school and education, he was very motivated to learn. He was taught by a French noblemen and studied religion and humanities. He excelled in almost every subject in school he had also achieved fluency in Italian and English. With his good health, he enjoyed physical activities such as hunting and wrestling. On May 10, 1774, Louis XVI was announced king after his grandfather Louis XV passed away. It was signed jointly by Great Britain, France, and Spain. The French forces had spent a lot of money in aid to America, and the national debt swelled to 3.315 billion for the country of France. This followed with public unrest and a distrust in the French monarchy, which were all factors that started the course for the French Revolution. French officials saw an opportunity in the rebellion of Britain’s North American colonies to take advantage of their British rivals. As the members of the Continental Congress considered declaring independence, they also discussed the possibility and necessity of foreign alliances.
