In th“An artist must be free to choose what he does, certainly, but he must also never be afraid to do what he might choose.” Many black artist felt the same way the langston Hughes did in the 1920’s, the Harlem Renaissance had a great impact on the black community; some of the most influential people of the movement were Langston Hughes, Claude Mckay, Alain LeRoy Locke, and Aaron Douglas. Firstly langston huge was a very infultal an important man in the 1920s. He parents separated at birth and his father walked out on him. He was raised by his grandmother and mother. His mother and him moved a lot at a young age he never really felt like he belonged because of that.One of the first works of his was the negro speaks of rivers he wrote this work right after her graduated from his high school in cleveland.he was published in the crisis of 1921 which could be seen in his work.after attending the university of columbia he spent a lot of his time in harlem which he grew to love dearly he was always know to call it the …show more content…

By the time that lagoston fishened his time at the university he has already help start up a magazine company called fire which was very influential. By this time he was starting to turn his poetry to more racial matter he traveled all around the world
