In my opinion of the two artists who helped shape the world of art, Leonardo da Vinci or Pablo Picasso, Picasso has my vote. While Leonardo da Vinci shaped the world itself with his art and sketches of machines and anatomy, Picasso shaped art with his unique styles and paintings. Leonardo was more in tune with realism and engineering, Picasso was interested in making shaping art into things never seen before! Picasso's art even started a movement of art in his unique styles! One reason why I think Picasso was more influential to the art world was that Leonardo wasn't interested in reforming art, he was interested in recreating ideas and things he saw into it. While in source two talking about his Les Demoiselles d'Avignon,"This style of painting was a radical break from the traditional European style of painting that favored realism. It was truly innovative, and Picasso benefited from being able to express himself and his art in a new way.", Picasso wasn't interested in making something real like da Vinci, he wanted to express himself. In the source it said it was a radical break from traditional realism, just in that he broke the,"Laws", of art by making something completely new and different. Another reason why I think Picasso influenced art more than da Vinci, was that even though Leonardo's art still helps the world today, it helps in anatomical studies and engineering, not in art. Heck, at the end of source two it claims that,"Picasso had become one of the most successful and famous artists of all time.
