Edgar Allan Poe is known for his imaginative work still to this day and is called "Father of the Detective Story." His short stories and poems are mainly a focus on mystery and thriller with facts and fiction blurred with this blurring only becoming even more indistinguishable since his death. Poe’s past life has known to affect the way his imagination helped him write his short stories and poems. His father left when he was young and his mother passed away from tuberculosis (TB) and he was separated him from siblings. Poe lived with the Allan family and his writing was frowned upon, mostly because his headmaster, John Allan, wanted him to continue the family business. Poe reportedly wrote poems on the back Allan’s business paper.
