Lyndon B. Johnson on Aug. 30, 1967 . He would later go to fight many times for civil rights before he retired and died of a heart failure. He will go down in history for declaring segregation in schools unconstitutional (naacp.com).
Did you know that during the civil rights movement “The civil rights movement was a struggle for social justice that took place mainly during the 1950s and 1960s for Black Americans to gain equal rights under the law in the United States” It was led by Martin Luther King Jr. This movement practiced non-violent methods of civil disobedience against racially discriminatory laws and practices. Thurgood Marshall was born in Baltimore, July 2,1908. Later he became a lawyer and he won 29 cases out of 32 which means he had a 90% win ratio before he ever went to the Supreme Court. Then he was originally going to be appointed to the US Supreme Court by President John F. Kennedy, but the President was assassinated so he was appointed by President
Robert Johnson is known as “The King of The Delta Blues,” and “The Father of Rock 'n Roll.” In his youth, Johnson copied licks directly from Son House, who later in his life vividly recalled how Johnson developed from a bad guitarist to a “master” in just two years. Zinnerman allegedly inspired Johnson to practice guitar in a graveyard at night while perched atop tombstones. On February 21, 1956 Robert Johnson was arrested for this part in the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Johnson's arrest number is 7037.
Medgar Evers A civil rights activist leader that was turned away from an election at gunpoint. later went on to fight in the second world war in Normandy, returning from the war and was told he didn't have sequel rights and racism.
