“If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”Martin Luther King was an african american activist and baptist minister. He fought for african american equality and the overall rights everyone should have.Martin Luther King Jr. reshaped the way africans americans were treated through the SCLC(Southern Christian Leadership Conference),The Selma to Montgomery March and also through the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Martin Luther King Jr.s main goal was for african americans to have the same rights of everyone else and through the help of the SCLC he could make that a reality.Martin Luther King Jr. led the bus boycott after Rosa Parks got arrested for not giving up her seat to a white man. “Sparked by the arrest of Rosa Parks in December 1st 1955 the Montgomery Bus Boycott was a 13 month protest led by MLK and the SCLC.”(Jack 1)This was really interesting because it …show more content…

Martin Luther King Jr. made his presence remembered in his speech I Have a Dream. “In 1964 due to his speech the Jim Crow era ended”(Hyatt) Now the Jim Crow era was when the state and local laws that enforced southern racial segregation. And through his speech ‘’I Have A Dream’’ people finally saw this era and law system as unconstitutional. Martin Luther King was also a baptist minister and would often make ties to god in his speeches.’’...may God hand me the tools to further my change.”(Azbell) King was saying that he hopes God will give him the tools and strength to get through the adversities he was about to go through. King later said through this quote he wants to not just inflict change but to cause a mass revolution in african american and as long as God provides the tools then they shall be successful.
