Out of many historical activists, Maya Angelou has made such an impact. Regardless of what she has gone through, Angelou’s perseverance, dedication, and determination has been used to connect with the black youth. Maya Angelou’s books and work ethic had a strong impact and significance on American culture and literature by portraying her emotional abuse, her experience with racism, activism, and accomplishments.
Not only was she a woman who spoke her thoughts out, a dancer, and entertainer along with her underrated gifts and resilience Maya Angelou is a well-known activist who sought out to accomplish many massive things and has impacted the world in ways with events based off culture using literature in her works. In today’s day, her books have been used all over the globe to connect with people and their emotions.
In addition, as we already know Ms. Angelou for being an outspoken, wise, activist and entertainer, we also know how she set out to accomplish many big challenges such as receiving big medals for art and publishing many writings. However, many do not know how maya Angelou’s character or her image came to be and what she had gone through before her big outbreaks. Many of her poems, writings and speeches reached out to people and connected with them personally, especially to the ones that had gone through discrimination just like her. Ever since she started letting out and people binding and connecting to her many have found peace and comfort in her activism and writing. She was becoming the voice to voiceless, and their hero for hope. She worked hard to let and make sure that people knew they were not in this alone giving them power. Throughout her journey, she had worked along many other empowerment activists such as Dr Matin Luther King Jr, and Oprah Winfrey who were also in the fight to get justice for the quiet weak voices and those who had been through a lot of trauma and discrimination just like them. As she gained more attention and recognition for the work that she has done, Maya still chose to fight for equality and better futures for many young black men and women. One of many ways that Angelou highlighted her activism was by such events like the American film Association which is a nonprofit celebration excellence that portrays creative education.
