Miep Gies was a person who played an essential role in the Holocaust by hiding many families from the Nazis. Miep played an essential role by helping hide Anne Frank and many others from the Nazis during World War II. Miep Gies made it her duty to ensure people's safety during the Holocaust by helping them out while they were hiding. She would also keep things quiet when people asked her questions about others in hiding. Who was Miep Gies and what did she do? Miep Gies was a helper in the Holocaust and kept people in hiding informed about what was happening in the outside world she would also tell them information at a lower level to not depress them more(Metselaar). Miep Gies being a helper in the Holocaust also entailed her bringing food and other supplies to the people in hiding to ensure their survival(Metselaar). Miep Gies's role also allowed her to know a lot of information allowing her to know how to properly care for the ones in hiding(Metselaar). Even after Anne and her family were arrested Miep made sure to go back and grab her Diary to preserve it(Raoul Wallenberg). Miep says that had she read Anne’s diary she would have burned it(Grady). She says all this stuff because Anne’s diary contained information that was considered dangerous to Miep and the other helpers(Grady).
