Romeo and Juliet mature a lot during this play, but they both mature at different times for different reasons. With Romeo being around the age of 17, and Juliet being 13 or 14, it is clear to say they were both immature, indecisive, and maybe even stubborn or carefree, but this is normal for the fact that they are both kids. Romeo in this play is very indecisive and stubborn. He starts off in the play as being so in love with Rosaline that all he does is sit around and mope on the fact that he is not with her. But the moment Romeo sees Juliet his feeling for Roseline pretty much go out the window and he immediately falls for Juliet. But Romeo does mature eventually. The exact moment he matures is after he kills Tybalt, gets banished from Verona, and talks to Friar. Friar basically tells Romeo that he is being childish and he should be happy he did not get executed and if anything Romeo should be grateful. For example, she was always more of an obedient child to her parents. When they chose Paris to marry her, she happily accepted to please her parents. Even though she was pretty mature for her age, She did mature completely during this play. She was different from Romeo though, Romeo matured all at once but Juliet matured a little at a time. For example, When she meets Romeo and decides to marry him she does it without her parents permission, which is unusual for her because she normally just listens to them, but Juliet decides to make her own choices. Another moment where she matured was when she finally stood up to her father about not wanting to marry Paris, her father was obviously furious and confused because she would normally never act like this.
