Enrique Deltoro Sr. DOB 08/23/1971 is a documented, validated Livas Norteno gang member in the city of Livingston. In speaking with a former full time sworn police officer for the Livingston Police Department, Enrique Deltoro has been a member of the “Livas” Norteno criminal street gang going back to the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. In February of 2016 Enrique Deltoro allegedly assaulted and threatened a drop out (former) gang member, in violation of 242 PC (Battery), 136.1(c) PC (Victim/Witness intimidation) 422 PC (Criminal Threats) and 186.22 PC (a gang enhancement).
“Three gang members were found guilty by a jury today for the 2013 killing of a 21-year-old Pasadena man, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. Deputy District Attorney Stefan Mrakich of the Hardcore Gang Division said Peter Parra, 37, of Pasadena; Kevin Jessie Cabrera, 27, of North Hollywood; and Raymond Frank Conchas, 26, of Covina were all found guilty of one count each of first-degree murder, attempted second-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime. ”(Santiago) The defendants in the case are facing life in prison without the possibility of parole. El Chapo was one of the most infamous drug lords that didn’t have their voice heard. When El Chapo escaped from prison it was a raining night and he hijacked two cars. El Chapo Guzman states that his Sinaloa cartel isn’t a “top-down corporation but a federation of tens of thousands of criminals.” Out of those tens of thousands of criminals they’re farmers, smugglers, corrupt police officers, and accountants. In 2006, Mexican police reported 11,800 murders, which rose to 22,800 in 2011, and dropped back to 15,600 in 2014.

With this story, Larmour presents a fairly obvious contrast between the types of hustles, and these two types of people that partake in these hustles. The inmates that are on the forefront of these illegal hustles tend to be looking for “lucrative” jobs or are just plain crazy like the “vultures” that scoop up guards’ spit out tobacco to make cigarettes. Then there are the inmates that strive to make their money doing “positive” hustles because they do it more for the people that they are around rather than for “their desire for money.” This contrast between the inmates can tell us more about our society.
