In What Ways Did Our Society Change with Capitalism, Socialism, and Communism? Did Utopian ideas and industrialization led to progress in social life and positively influenced government? Many people believe it did because capitalism, socialism, and communism were developed. I believe it didn’t lead to progress because for changing social life and influencing governments, it had to go through abusive capitalism, idealistic socialism, and non functional communism. Capitalism is based on having the right to own property, but workers have to go through abusiveness from their bosses. Capitalism has changed the world for the better by harnessing individual self-interest. Markets, cities, and civilization arose along trade routes where it was convenient for people to gather, such as on rivers or a coast. Capitalism supported John Locke’s Rights Theory because like I said before Capitalism is based on private property and John claimed that one of his natural rights was the right to own property. Competition led to great inventions because the more ideas the producers had, the more it would profit them. Why? Well because the ideas were soon developed into major inventions and the greater the invention the more more it will profit. Also, these great invention helped the people lives to be much more easier, For example life improved when the telephone was invented because for those who had long distance families, it was easier to communicate. There was no need of letters when you could call them instead and not wait weeks to receive a letter. Capitalism affected the working class because the people would treat them badly and the bosses would barely even pay them for the work they have accomplished. The workers would suffer because they barely had any money to survive. Something positive about capitalism is that capitalism ensures that an economy will produce the most desired products at an acceptable price. This is because the customers will pay more for what they wanted the most. The companies that keep prices low will receive more profit.
