Saint Thomas Aquinas Saint Thomas Aquinas was a Catholic Priest in the Dominican Order and was one of the most important Medieval philosophers and theologians. Saint Thomas Aquinas was greatly influenced by scholasticism and Aristotle and known for his synthesis, of the two foregoing traditions. He had written many works of philosophy and theology throughout his life span, and his most influential work is the “Summa Theologica" which consists of three parts. The three parts were about God, Ethics, and Christ. Saint Thomas Aquinas was a big part of the catholic faith, what he brought to the table was how he believed God’s existence could be proven, taught philosophical subjects both moral and natural natures, and he wrote writings to help his teachings. …show more content…

There were five reasons, which consisted of the “first one being Observing movement in the world as proof of God, second, the "Immovable Mover" observing cause and effect and identifying God as the cause of everything, third was concluding that the impermanent nature of beings proves the existence of a necessary being, God, who originates only from within himself the fourth reason was by noticing varying levels of human perfection and determining that a supreme, perfect being must therefore exist, and last but not least it was by knowing that natural beings could not have intelligence without it being granted to them it by God” (St. Thomas Aquinas Biography Editors).
