Suzanne Collins’ Earliest Influences In a male-dominated world of writers, Suzanne Collins has become one of the top-earning authors netting nearly 80 million dollars. Born August 10, 1962 in Hartford, Connecticut, Collins was the youngest of 4. She has written for Nickelodeon TV shows such as Wow Wow Wubbzy and Clarissa Explains it All, and has found huge success in her book series, The Hunger Games. As a child, Collins spent hours in her room writing and reading, letting her imagination take her through millions of adventures which we have all come to love and admire today. She attended Indiana University where she met her husband, who stood by her side while her career shifted from TV to prose. During childhood her father, who was an Airforce pilot and a history enthusiast, ignited her passion for the darker side of humanity.
