The American Dream is a dream that all mankind has. A lot of the common people place confidence in the fact that poverty is one of the biggest factors holding people back from that dream. People who agree that poverty is detrimental and will not let people achieve the American Dream find ways to help them be able to experience it. Some people might assume that poverty actually helps them achieve the American Dream. Each year the poverty rates are increasing tremendously and will keep increasing if no one takes action.
However, as our country has evolved, so has the perception of the American dream. Our country’s unification is being torn apart by confining people to a specified class. The American dream is possible and not just for a certain social class and is also achievable if the person is willing to work hard for it and believe that they can achieve it. Today the American dream is about reaching a specific goal and a majority of the time this goal is money and being higher on the social ladder, this reminds me of Donald Trump his American dream in 2016 was to go higher on the social ladder and he achieved this goal by becoming the President of the United States and he did this by working hard and believing it was possible. The American dream is having equality, a voice to be heard and stability in one’s life. However, the American Dream is just that, a dream. It cannot be attained because of the power of our government, the ignorant minds of others and the constant want for more. Among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” .Some Americans believe that the American Dream can still be obtained in the 21st Century with hard work and perservance ; however, a majority of the American population among race gender and class has a different point of view on what America still provides to their citizens because economic insta8bility and lack of equal opportunity.
The American Dream isn’t Possible Statistically, 57% of America’s population think that they have achieved their American Dream when thinking about their financial situations. That’s only a little over half of the American population. That must mean the rest are either not mature enough or haven’t achieved their version of the American Dream. Sometimes they are faced with financial obstacles that prevent them from moving forward towards their dream, they may be prevented by the social class that they are born into, or they will never achieve their American Dream because it is ever-changing and they always desire more.
American Dream The American Dream has come from a desire to increase social standing and quality of living. Although the U.S.’ numerous opportunities have allowed many people to achieve their dream, the American Dream is also flawed. Certain demographics tend to live together in areas with little opportunities reducing their chances of achieving the dream, increasing wealth inequality allows only some to support themselves, and economic downfalls make the American Dream exist in a flawed manner.
The American Dream has the nationality ethos of the United States. It is a collection of goals that everyone born in America has freedom, equal opportunity for prosperity and upward social mobility. They can achieve through hard work in a society with few obstacles. However, the fact is cruel. Nowadays, America’s economic inequality is growing.
America was booming in the twenty century. The economic shifts seemed to be sharper and more frequent than ever before. This inspired immigrants to seek a new life in a place where wealth was so abundant and scarce at the same time. The reality of developing America was freighting and thrilling. Cities were becoming power houses for art, culture, technology, learning, and economic opportunity.
False Illusions "For many the American Dream has become a nightmare. " These words of Bernie Sanders are accurate to an extent. The American Dream is the idea that anyone, with enough resolve and determination, can climb the economic ladder, regardless of where they start in life. It is called the American Dream because the United States is depicted as the greatest nation in the world, that offers the most opportunity and freedom to achieve upward mobility in society. However, many people attach themselves too much to the hope of achieving this dream that they fail to realize the inequalities that take place in front of their own faces, which are the factors that are hampering them from this illusion.
