We, the Mexican people must defend ourselves and our country against the greedy Americans. We have attempted to find a peaceful resolution, but none have worked. We have to fight. YOU must fight.

This all started in 1820, when the Government of Mexico granted Moses Austin land in our northern territory to make use of the land as we didn’t have a great enough population to take full advantage of it. He began gathering colonists, but died before he could begin the colony. His son, Stephen Austin resumed his father’s work. The three simple stipulations we had for colonizing were ; they were to bring no slaves (slavery is illegal) ; the settlers must swear oaths of loyalty to the Mexican Government ; they must become Roman Catholic. The little rebels decided to ignore these conditions and we, the reasonable people of Mexico decided to give them one more chance, follow the laws, or the land grant is taken away. They still didn’t want to listen, so we banned immigration to Texas, made the Americans pay property taxes, and raised tariffs on imported American goods, and they still wouldn’t obey the laws! …show more content…
