How Did The British East India Influence American Imperialism

As a sovereign nation, Great Britain has been a threat and a friend to many other countries, including China, India, and the United States. Historically, Britain has been the leading industrial nation with major technological advancements including railroads, weaponry, steamships, and tons more. Despite being one of the most powerful nations in the world, Britain and its leaders were fixated on growing their empire and advancing their economic and political wealth; especially in Asian countries such as China and India. The imperial nation of Great Britain had a greater influence in India compared to China because the Indian bureaucratic leaders were more willing and open to foreign commerce and creating a lasting relationship with the British than Chinese government officials

With major trading companies, such as the largest company to ever exist, the British East India Company, pushing for more influence in India, the door for European imperialism was opened. The British East India Company, more commonly known as the East India Company, has been known to the world as the largest monopoly that the world has ever seen; “The British East India Company enjoyed monopoly privileges in the Eastern Hemisphere.
