One major change from Glaspell’s play was when Mrs. Hale opened the pretty box. In the play by Susan Glaspell, Mrs. Hale was looking for some pair of scissors and when she opened the box she said, “ There’s something wrapped up in this piece of silk” (1206). In the video, Mrs. Hale says, “What a pretty box. She had this long time going she’s a girl” (0:20:03-0:20:24). After she opened it, she closed it right away because she didn’t want Mrs. Peters to see what was inside.
The plot was lucid, maybe because it’s a professional play. It was very clear and understandable to what was going on in the play. The introduction to Cyrano was very interesting. Cyrano, whose personality was shown, when interrupting the play that was being performed in the Hotel Burgundy called “Clorise”.
The play did a great job of conveying this, as I found myself being entertained as well as deeply entwined with the story line. The attempt could have been a shot in the dark, but it hit the nail right on the head and I found it very pleasing. However, the one dark mark on this play is that it had a hard time balancing out the perfection in every character.
In the book, Big Tree, by Brian Selznick, I chose the prompt “ How does a character you chose change throughout your book?” There are many different ways different characters change throughout the story, one of them is Merwin. He changes from being ignorant, to becoming more aware of his surroundings. One piece of evidence that supports this is that after he sees that the Beautiful Mountain is the Terrible Volcano, he realizes that he’s been wrong the entire time. At the beginning, Merwin didn’t hear any voices calling to him.
Reverend Hale’s character changes quite dramatically throughout the course of the play. The minister begins as a very book-savvy man, who looks to his books for the answers on how to extinguish the Devil from Salem. Within the numerous books Rev. Hale first presents to the others as they try to wake Betty, “the Devil stands stripped of all his brute disguises” and holds no power against that of a well-educated minister (37). This displays his faith in the books interpreted from God by mortal mouths, demonstrating how in the beginning of the play, Rev. Hale relies on mortal powers to reveal the truth that God already possesses. Furthermore, towards the start of the play, Hale possesses much suspicion towards John Proctor as he learns of his
In Arthur Miller’s well-know play, The Crucible, there are many external struggles between characters. Throughout the play, we watch the characters develop within themselves, as well as change towards each other. Three character developments that stand out in the play are Hale and the court, Elizabeth and John, and John and Abigail. When Reverend John Hale is first introduced in the play he has been called to investigate the suspicious illnesses of Ruth Putnam and Betty Parris.
I had mixed emotions from this production but overall I thought it was a great experience and I thought the production itself had an excellent message behind it. Initially it was hard for me to understand the dialogue because of the accents, but as the play went along my brain adjusted and it was a lot clearer and enjoyable. The time period in which the play took place had a negative effect on me. Daniel who is Elin Jean’s father is extremely closed minded and basically held Margaret against her will and forced her to marry him.
His growth throughout the novel was very noticeable. diegos confidence and morals grow along with him making him and character to look up to and learn from and although his relationships stop by the end of the book they carry him through his immense development, and helped portray the idea think before you act. MIGHT NOT NEED, PUT INTO
Overall the character development and viewpoints were carefully thought out and without the minor details being picked out above the characters were portrayed

The Maturities of Romeo and Juliet It is a controversial topic whether youth is capable of handling a mature love. Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare by 1595, epitomizes this common topic. The main characters of the play are two teenagers who fall in love at the first sight, however, the hatred between the families of the two leads to their death in the end. In the adaptation of Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet in 1996, Romeo and Juliet are portrayed more mature than in that of Baz Luhrmann in 1968.
The Character Development of Juliet Romeo and Juliet is a story that only spams the course of four days, however the protagonist Juliet goes through so much change. In this essay I’ll be focusing on how her character develops during the pay. When we are first introduced to Juliet she is quiet, obedient, innocent and deferent. In act 1 scene 3, her mother questions her about her view on marriage, she answers, “I’ll look to like, if looking liking move.” This suggests that she is immature because she had a childish conception of love (one can’t simply try to love).
Over the course of Hamlet, many of the main characters engage in role play as a mechanism to achieve their own interests. Prince Hamlet is one of these characters, and his act proves to be one of the most important aspects of the play. Throughout the play, role-play (especially Hamlet’s) significantly affects the plot, and ultimately strains the relationships between several characters. Hamlet is among one of the most important characters to engage in role play. In act one, scene 5, shortly after being told that Claudius killed his father, Hamlet tells Horatio and Marcellus that he plans to feign madness, and he says, “As I, perchance, hereafter shall think meet to put an antic disposition
The development and new aspects of each character leads to Shakespeare’s motive.
Throughout the history of Shakespearen literature, Shakespeare tends to develop the characters in to a way that complements the story. For an example, in Macbeth, he shows the digression of the main character by an internal conflict residing from a mental condition, if he did not explain every detail of his thought process then the story would be bland and not a literature masterpiece. Another key example is the story of Romeo and Juliet, even though it is a romantic piece, he still assigns different personality traits to each character. Which makes them a key asset to how the story concludes and the theme the reader is left to discover. One of the biggest colliding character interactions is Benvolio and Tybalt.
