The European Renaissance was a result of the fall of the Middle Ages. When the old European system failed and the Roman Catholic Church had no answers for the people, they sought out answers elsewhere. The people of Europe found their answers in old libraries constructed by Alexander the Great containing the old Greek knowledge which was much superior to their current intelligence. There were multiple components that made up the European Renaissance: the Age of Discovery, the Protestant Reformation, and the Enlightenment. The Renaissance not only led to technological advances, but enhancements in thought and the advancement in ideas.
